Admissions
The school offers a Catholic education. The Governors expect that parents applying for places for their children will accept and uphold the Catholic character and ethos of the School. The School was set up primarily to serve the Catholic community in the Crawley Deanery but also includes the deanery for East Grinstead, West Grinstead, Horsham, Horley and Billingshurt. The deanery primary schools located in this community which are the feeder schools for St Wilfrid’s Catholic School are:
- St Francis of Assisi, Crawley, West Sussex
- Our Lady Queen of Heaven, Crawley, West Sussex
- St Peter’s Catholic Primary School, East Grinstead, West Sussex
- St John’s Catholic Primary School, Horsham, West Sussex
- St Robert Southwell, Horsham, West Sussex
Although Catholic children have priority of admission, the Governing Body also welcomes applications from those of other denominations and faiths who support the religious ethos of the School.
Our Open Evening is on Thursday 10th October 2024 18:00 to 20:15hrs.
Having consulted with the Diocese, Local Authority, other admission authorities and other relevant groups, the Governors intend to admit into Year 7, in September 2024, up to 180 students without reference to ability or aptitude.
All students must complete a Supplementary Information Form to gain admission to the school. These are available from the School Website Admissions Area. This needs to be returned to admissions@stwilfrids.com or to the school reception by 31 October 2024.
Students are admitted to all other year groups only if places are available.
St Wilfrid’s Catholic School is part of the West Sussex County Council Admissions. The LA consider all ranked preferences equally against the admissions criteria for the named school. They then offer a place at the highest ranked school for which the applicant meets the admission criteria. Further information concerning West Sussex’s Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme, including closing dates, can be obtained by telephoning the school admissions team on 033 301 42903 or by visiting their website here.
