Student Leadership

At St Wilfrid’s, our Student Leadership Programme is designed to encourage students to develop their leadership & teamwork skills whilst allowing them to make a positive contribution to the whole school community. In doing this, students will be able to transfer these skills into the classroom and so enhance their learning.

The programme is split into three award levels:

Ethos

This is offered to students in Year 8. The expectation is that they will commit themselves to a minimum of twenty hours over a period of approximately one year. It is envisaged that students will have achieved this award by the end of Year 9.

Silver Award

Student Council

Our Student Council is made up of representatives from each year group who embody the students as a whole at St Wilfrid’s and make sure that students’ ideas and opinions are heard!

As well as gathering feedback and ideas from students across the school, the Student Council also take part in things such as interviews for potential new teachers and community projects. Their aim is to make sure that students have a say in the operation of their school and about issues that affect young people.

The Student Council meets every two weeks. If you have any ideas or feedback that you would like to put forward to Student Board, please speak to one of your Student Council representatives or email us at studentcouncil@stwilfrids.com.
