Students at St Wilfrid’s achieved 20 Bronze certificate, 6 Silver certificates and 2 Gold certificates in this year’s UKMT Junior Maths Challenge. Over 260,000 students from across the UK sat the Junior Maths Challenge with roughly the top 6% receiving a Gold Certificate, the next 13% Silver and 21% Bronze.
Approximately 8,200 of the top students are invited to sit a follow-on competition, the Junior Mathematical Olympiad or Kangaroo and St Wilfrid’s are delighted that Bartosz Kwit has qualified to enter this competition.
Congratulations to all the students that took part and special congratulations got to Darcy Gledhill who was Best in Year 7 and Bartosz Kwit who was Best in Year 8.
The Junior Maths Challenge is run the by the UK Mathematics Trust and supported by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. It is aimed at those in Year 7 and 8 and is sat in schools.
