‘Working Title Films’ and ‘British Cinema’

Our Film Studies students had an excellent educational experience at the British Film Institute in London recently. They visited the National Cinema on the Southbank and immersed themselves into the study day and fact finding activities. They were fortunate enough to meet a producer from the commercially successful and highly esteemed ‘Working Title Films’ production company (who made e.g. ‘Atonement’ , ‘Nanny McPhee’, ‘Hot Fuzz’ , ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’. ‘Notting Hill’ the ‘Bridget Jones’ films and ‘Billy Elliot’). They are now in post production of Matt Damon’s new film ‘Green Zone’.
The study day certainly brought alive the film industry’s work and will assist our students in their preparation for their final Film Studies exams. We are hoping to follow up this trip with a visit to the BFI IMAX Centre.
