Best Ever GCSE Results Since 2000
St Wilfrid’s are
celebrating yet another increase in GCSE results to complement their excellent A
Level results last week. An impressive 61% of year 11 students achieved 5 or
more A*-C grades, the best GCSE results the school has had in 8 years.
Headteacher
Jonathan Morris was pleased with the results.
“We are proud of our students this year, who are pushing forward
achievement at St Wilfrid’s in leaps and bounds.
This increase represents two years of hard work and dedication, both from
our students and their teachers. I would like to personally congratulate them on
their success, and thank everyone who supported them through these key
examinations.”
A special mention
to four outstanding St Wilfrid’s students; Ellie Walton, Joe De Quay, Niamh
Maccaoilte and Stephen Allen. Ellie
Walton achieved 12 A grades, including 7 A* grades, Joe De Quay succeeded in
getting 12 A grades, including 8 A* grades, Stephen Allen achieved 11 A* and A
grades and Niamh Maccaoilte achieved 10 A* and A grades. These fantastic results are a tribute
to the student’s hard work and their teacher’s dedication. “These students show how much can be
achieved with the right attitude and the opportunities we offer at St
Wilfrid’s,” said Mr Morris, “my congratulations to them and their teachers.”
